Fukushima Translational Research Project

Business Summary

This project is a part of the Fukushima Reconstruction Project, based on the Reconstruction Fund of Fukushima Prefecture. JBIC joined the research consortium led by Fukushima Medical University in October 2012. JBIC will support the development of testing / diagnostic medicines and medicines multilaterally by bridging the medical societies and industries to create new industries and employment associated with them.

Contents

  • Research and development
    • Acquisition of gene expression profiles from various biomaterials
    • Acquisition of cDNA resources and conversion for various types of utilization
    • Acquisition of large-scale protein analysis data
    • Construction of a compound evaluation system using a novel, reversible stimulus-responsive reporter expression cultured cell line
    • Development of an optimal medium for cancer tissue-derived cultured cells (lumps)
    • Preparation of LAK cells using PBMC and construction of co-culture method of dendritic cells and regulatory T cells
    • Detection of cell surface markers of hematological cell lines
    • Development of a method for producing antibody-producing cells (plasma cells) from memory B cells in normal peripheral blood
  • Support of results utilization / drug discovery
    • Communication / coordination with participating companies and establishment of implementation system for drug development support site
    • Intermediary support for bridging various information between participating companies and Fukushima Medical University
    • Various surveys and proposals for commercialization of the results obtained in this project
    • Operation management of Tokyo satellite
